Hearing record

Day 104

Day 104, 8 May 2026. The Madlanga Commission sat in camera to hear the protected witness known as 'Witness H', continuing a closed-session strand that the commission had provided for in its 5 May Rule 4 notice and 7 May ruling on the Witness H in-camera hearing. Because the session was held behind closed doors on safety grounds, no public evidence was led and no broadcast was made; the commission issued a media statement the same day recording the in-camera remarks. This was among the last sitting days before the commission broke from 18 May 2026 to prepare its second interim report, delivered to President Cyril Ramaphosa on 29 May 2026. Nothing heard in camera is a finding, and anyone who may be named is presumed innocent.
