Day 117, 10 June 2026. 'Witness I' continued his evidence on the Aeroton cocaine bust, telling the commission that Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala had acted as a police informant and disclosing that he had lived for about two years at a Matlala family property in Mamelodi - an arrangement he said followed a 2023 attempt on his life and was set up through Captain Felani Zungu. Evidence leaders pressed whether his presence at the scene was to legitimise an attempt to steal the seized cocaine, which he denied. Former Gauteng traffic chief Samuel Mashaba then began his evidence.
