Hearing record

Day 120

Day 120, 17 June 2026. The Madlanga Commission resumed after a short adjournment with Brigadier Campbell Nyuswa, the KZN Hawks Serious Organised Crime commander, testifying on the R200m Port Shepstone cocaine theft. He said he identified the Port Shepstone office to store the ~541kg seizure because its safes could only be opened with a key, conceded the building's known security weaknesses, and said provincial head Maj-Gen Lesetja Senona approved the site and then took possession of both keys. Nyuswa told the commission he suspected the strong-room breach had been staged and that he knows who stole the drugs but would not name them. All allegations are untested.
