Hearing record

Day 137

Day 137, 10 July 2026. Retired Hawks Colonel Kobus Roelofse testified that the head of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), Advocate Andrea Johnson, interfered in a 2018 assault investigation in which suspended SAPS Crime Intelligence deputy head Major-General Feroz Khan was the suspect. Roelofse said Johnson improperly obtained contents of the police docket - which arose from a complaint by Brigadier Leonora Phetlhe that Khan had assaulted her with a pen - and forwarded them by email to Khan before he had been charged or given his version, which he said allowed Khan to tailor his account and potentially approach witnesses. The commission separately ruled that two further protected witnesses, referred to as 'Witness N' and 'Witness O', would give parts of their evidence in camera on safety grounds. All allegations are untested; Khan and Johnson are presumed innocent.
